I coach people who are good with customers and still hear I will think about it at the end of every call. Usually the call is a product demo with no questions in it, so nobody ever finds out what the buyer is actually trying to fix or when they need it fixed. We rebuild the conversation around a short set of questions, practise handling the price objection without discounting first, and agree how to close every call with a date in the diary.
