I turn up with my own tools and work through the list that has been waiting on the fridge door: shelves and mirrors hung, dripping taps re-washered, wardrobe doors realigned, curtain poles fitted. Moving-in days are my busiest — beds reassembled, the TV bracketed to the wall, a dead socket swapped out before the boxes are unpacked. I cover Manchester and the nearer suburbs and can usually fit small jobs into the same week.
